When I first moved to Amersfoort we lived in a little apartment above a shop with a view of the old gate to the city. I loved sitting at the window imagining all the people that have passed through since it was built. Drawing it feels like capturing a glimpse of the past and a snap of today with the new shops lining the streets leading towards the old city centre.
